WebReader(tm) is the first full-function Internet newsreader capable of posting and reading articles containing Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). This means that readers of Usenet can, for the first time anywhere, include bold font, italics, graphics, lists and other Web constructs in their news postings without cluttering newsgroups with HTML tags. This level of transparency means that while WebReader displays enhanced articles in much the same way an ordinary Web browser would, the same articles will appear, to Brand X newsreaders, in ASCII only. Moreover, HTML-enhanced articles posted from WebReader take up much less space on news servers than do ASCII articles. This apparent paradox is possible due to the way WebReader posts HTML articles, and which makes use of patented technology; check out an early press release for details.
Also included with WebReader is a full-function HTML editor, suitable for creating not only enhanced news postings, but standard Web pages as well. This easy-to-use editor does not require knowledge of HTML, so may be used by novices and experienced Web programmers alike. The editor includes support for article previewing, multi-level undo, and many other features.
Compare your current newsreader with WebReader, feature-by-feature, and see why WebReader has more features than any other news client; you'll never go back to your old newsreader.
Version 3.0 of WebReader(tm) includes several important changes and functional enhancements; for an overview of functional enhancements in Version 3.0, check out new features and enhancements. Beginning December 7, 1999, you can download WebReader 3.0 at no cost. Before downloading WebReader, make sure you meet the minimal system requirements.
