Displaying Group Hierarchies

When displaying a large number of unsubscribed groups, it will often be easier and faster to find the group(s) you're looking for if you display group hierarchies, rather than all the groups in a single window. You can do this by checking the Display group hierarchies: box in the server properties window. Then, when you select New groups, All groups or All unsubscribed groups a list like the following will be displayed:

Double-clicking on a folder, or selecting the expansion button to the left of the folder, will cause the child elements (folders and/or files) in the group hierarchy to be alternately displayed or hidden. In this way, you may proceed down the group hierarchy until you find the groups you are interested in. Note that group descriptions the number of available articles are displayed only when the full group name is selected.

If you wish, you may subscribe to all groups at a given point in the hierarchy, by simply selecting an item in the list and pressing the Subscribe button. For example, selecting comp above, followed by Subscribe will subscribe you to all groups whose names begin with comp.. Actual group subscriptions don't take place until after you press the Done button, so you may change your choices of subscribed/unsubscribed groups any time until then.
