Kill file... will display a killfile dialog:
WebReader killfiles are kept in the directory specified by the Killfile directory: property. The scope of a killfile may be local or global. For local killfiles, only articles in a specific newsgroup are affected; in this case, the name of the killfile is the same as the name of the newsgroup. The global killfile affects articles in all subscribed groups, and is named KILL. These are the files which get modified by the killfile dialog window.
The following is a description of the different components of the killfile dialog window:
- Load file loads the contents of the currently-selected (Group/Global) killfile into the list.
- Add will add the current kill string to the list.
- Delete causes the currently-selected item in the list to be deleted.
- Save file causes the contents of the list to be saved in the respective killfile, depending on whether Edit Group or Edit Global had been selected.
- Edit Group indicates that the group killfile is to be modified.
- Edit Global indicates that the global killfile (KILL) is to be modified.
- Kill string: specifies the text string to use as a criteria for killing articles.
- Modifier: identifies which field in the article header the Kill string: is to be compared with. The choices are Subject and Author
- Remove, when pressed, will cause all articles matching the kill criteria to be deleted from the articles list.
- Done dismisses the killfile dialog window.
