Setting WebReader properties

The behavior and appearance of WebReader is controlled through its Properties file, which resides in the directory in which you installed the WebReader distribution. The various fields in Properties may be set from the Properties dialog, which is invoked by pressing the Properties button in the toolbar. The Property dialog window will get displayed, along with the current settings for the first category.

There are a total of four different Property categories:

  1. Appearance category
  2. Server category
  3. User category
  4. Miscellaneous category
The Appearance category allows the user to change the appearance of various display items, such as text font and size, the number of article headers displayed at once, etc. The Server category determines which NNTP server WebReader will connect to, as well as how postings from WebReader are processed. The User category controls certain user-specific properties, such as organization name and e-mail address, among others. Finally, the Miscellaneous category allows you to specify the names of certain files and directories required by WebReader. Details on how to set the various properties can be found in the appropriate category, above.
