Subscribing and unsubscribing to a newsgroup

Selecting the All matching descriptions... item displays a dialog window, prompting you for an expression to search on:

If the search expression includes one or more blanks, the blanks are treated as delimiters of separate search arguments. For example, if the search expression is "Alberta Quebec", then WebReader will look for group descriptions which contain either the word "Alberta" or "Quebec".

Pressing the Apply button in the matching groups dialog causes WebReader to search for any newsgroups whose group descriptions satisfy the search expression. If you have checked the Display group hierarchies: box in the server properties window, the results of the match may appear as follows:

or, after expanding a few folders,

Press the Subscribe button in the toolbar to subscribe to the selected group(s).

Press the Visit a Group button to visit a (single) selected group.

Press the Unsubscribe button to unsubscribe from the selected group(s).

Press the Properties button to display the properties dialog window.

Pressing the Return button will update the Newsrc.subscribed and desc.subscribed files according to the group(s) marked as subscribed and unsubscribed, respectively, and then return you to the main window.
