What newsgroups are out there?
From time to time, you will probably want to know about the newsgroups which have been formed since the last time you checked. You can do that by selecting New groups from the View groups menu on the main WebReader window. WebReader keeps track of the last time you downloaded new groups, and sends this information to your NNTP server, so that the server knows to send you only the groups which you don't already know about. Once you have downloaded the new group and descriptions, you can use the various menu items under View groups to find and subscribe to the groups of your choice. If you know the exact names of the groups you wish to subscribe to, you can use the Subscribe toolbar button to quickly subscribe to one or more groups.
One thing to keep in mind is that although the more popular newsgroups can be found on most of the news servers you will encounter, there is a chance that a given server will not carry your favorite groups. Also, many public access news servers will allow you to read articles but not post. The moral here is to shop around until you find a news server that fits.
